Our Ministry

1937511Faith, hope, love – and a lifeline of emergency support and welfare: this is how we reach out to our fishermen.

The Fishermen’s Mission has stayed true to our Christian calling by helping fishermen and their families for over 130 years.

Just as Christ called fishermen to him, we go out in His name today to help our fishermen by caring, sharing, supporting and showing love.

Bringing the compassion of Christ to fishing communities

As an ecumenical charity the Fishermen’s Mission maintains a positive, loyal and trusted Christian presence in our fishing communities.

We seek to make Christ’s love real by offering practical and pastoral help and share His compassion through our example and service.

‘Christianity with its sleeves rolled up’ George Ayoma, our Mission Pastor, says, “Our maxim, ‘Christianity with its sleeves rolled up’ means a local personification of an open, familiar and friendly face. That’s who we are, when living out and practising our Christian duty within the Fishermen’s Mission.”
