Urgent appeal for funds
to help our fishermen
As you are already no doubt aware fishermen based in storm battered coastal communities are suffering the full impact of the recent severe storms. Many fishermen, particularly those in coves, with tidal restricted harbours and those launched from beaches have not been able to fish since December. How would you cope if you hadn't been paid for two months?
While the winter storms have impacted many fishermen around the UK; those particularly affected are the inshore fishing fleets located in the South, South West and along the Welsh Coast especially those fishermen who operate day-boats.
The winter storms have prevented fishing, caused the loss of fishing pots, smashed harbours, and in extreme situations boats have sunk in the harbour.
Immediate emergency grants of up to £500 are being made available to Fishermen who are in need. These can be used to help pay rent, bills and food.
Thanks to our friends at Seafarer's UK who have donated £50,000 and the wonderful gifts we have already received we are on our way - but more needs to be done. We have distributed more than £10,000 in 24 hours. Please help by making a donation now.
