Porthleven baulk art projections!

February 5th 2014 saw saw Porthleven in Cornwall battered by a tremendous storm. The Harbour defences or baulks as they are known were ripped from their stations and became part of the battering the harbour was receiving. A quarter of the boats tied up at Porthleven were destroyed.

But from such destruction comes beauty in the shape of the Porthleven Baulk Art project and auction. The wooden baulks have been reclaimed and turned into 200 exquisite works of art. Local artists have been joined by Dame Judi Dench, Dame Carol Ann Duffy to produce wonderful masterpieces that will be auctioned on Saturday 18th March for the Fishermen’s Mission.

Want to get a preview look at the fantastic art before the auction? Sunday 5th February 2017 marks three years since the great storm and images of the baulk art project pieces will be projected onto the face of the Porthleven Clock Tower from 6:30 pm.
