Become a Trustee
We need Trustees with a range of skills and different life experiences
Diversity is vital in making sure that decisions are made in the best interests of those the charity seeks to help. Trustees are all volunteers, although reasonable out-of-pocket expenses are covered with an induction and training provided.
Being a Trustee with the Fishermen’s Mission is a great opportunity to make a real difference. In this role, you can learn new skills and team up with existing members that act as a mentor throughout the experience.
Fulfilling our purpose
Our Board of Trustees work on a voluntary basis to take responsibility for the governance of the charity, ensuring that we are effective and meeting our overall purpose.
In return we can offer:
- Inductions, training and reimbursable expenses
- New skills and personal development opportunities
- A key role is helping make strategic decisions
- The chance to help shape new and innovative projects
- Opportunities to help improve the health, wellbeing, financial security
and work-related safety of fishermen and their families
We are particularly keen to increase the diversity of our current board. Current vacancies on our Board of Trustees are on the Vacancies page – expressions of interest are always welcome.
In need of a lifeline
You do not have to cope with struggles alone.
The Fishermen’s Mission offer a dedicated lifeline to fishermen and their families. If you need us, call us.
