Been there, done that and was even given the t-shirt.
Our man in Marrakesh Keith has just completed his half marathon. He has raised over £400 for the Fishermen’s Mission and we can’t thank him enough.
Here’s what Keith has said about his experience.
Well the race is run and that’s us back home. The race its self exceeded my wildest expectations in atmosphere and the fantastic route we ran through Marrakech’s iconic landmarks. Of course there was some drama when we almost went to the wrong part of the city for the start on Sunday morning. It is a mistake anybody could make and we were only saved by the intervention of a highly amused German runner who pointed us in the right direction to reach the start. Running under a clear blue sky in brilliant sunshine through olive groves past the soaring spires of Mosques being cheered on by large groups of school children will long remain in my memory. To top it off we aimed to finish in two hours fifteen minutes but finished the course in a time two hours fourteen minutes and thirty eight seconds.
My thanks to all that so generously donated to the Fishermen’s Mission, your donations will make a real difference to the live of our fishing communities at a very difficult time of year for them.
Hope you enjoy the pictures, and yes I feel worse than I look in the picture with the medal.
Keith
