The Fishermen’s Mission are being supported by a Team from Yorkshire Water Services to bring retired fisherman Henry Bailey, East Hull a bit of Christmas Cheer.

The team will be help to decorate Henry’s bungalow. Henry lives alone and has struggled to maintain his property and so the Yorkshire Water team have been working away with the help of John and Jamie from JJ Cleaning. They have been preparing the property for painting with Homebase providing some paint to help with the makeover.

Simon Barnes, Director of Business Support at Yorkshire Water, said:

“Hull has a huge maritime heritage and in particular deep sea fishing, and as we are one of the main sponsors for Hull City Culture 2015, supporting the Fishermen’s Mission seems like a very worthy and relevant cause for us to get behind”.

Eight staff from Yorkshire Water will be spending the day renovating the house, which is lived in by a retired fisherman who spent 24 years at sea.

Superintendent Tracy Stephens said:

“We became aware of Mr Bailey’s needs through a NHS Support Worker. Financial Support has been given from the Seafarers Hospital Society, along with Rosepark Trust without whom this could not have happened. The Team from Yorkshire Water Services are simply the icing on the cake to complete the support needed”
