It’s easy to see why the National Fish Friday is so well supported. Raising much needed funds for the Fisherman’s Mission while just ordering your favourite comfort food, fish and chips, with a nice brew at Fraser’s in Penzance and Harbour Lights in Falmouth does just that. For the past twelve months 5p from every warm drink has been donated by the two chippies to the Fisherman’s Mission. Pete Fraser, owner, said: “It adds up over the year and this year happy to say it’s been the best yet”.
The monies raised get a substainal boast with a 10% donation of the takings from both Fraser’s and Harbour Lights during the day on Fish Friday. “Our visitors and guests really enjoy the atmosphere; the teams dress up and are happy to share why we feel so passionately about this charity. It’s always a busy day, just how we like it” said Tom Rubensson General Manager at the Harbour Lights.

Helen Laity, General Manager at Frasers said “it always has a celebratory feel about Fish Friday, it’s in our heritage and it’s a tradition, but really any excuse for a fish and chip celebration and we’re up for it. It’s the team’s idea to offer up their tips for the day to support the charity and I can’t thank them enough”.
Julian Waring, Fund Raising manager Said “I’m delighted to accept a cheque from Frasers and Harbour Lights for £2084 which has been raised between the two fish and chip shops various fund raising activities. Sue and Pete Fraser have been amazing supporters of the Fisherman’s Mission for the past decade and their support and that of their teams is very much appreciated.”
