This is the first time this has been carried out in North Shields and indeed in the North East.
NHS Health Checks are helping you prevent: diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, stroke & Dementia.
Superintendent Peter Dade, Mission Area Officer for Amble to Hartlepool, said “the NHS is coming to the fishermen where they are as it is so difficult for them to visit their own GP or Health Centre when at sea.”
