Sunday saw the Fish and Chip industry gather at the Celtic Manor Resort for the annual celebration of the Fish and Chip industry with the National Federation of Fish Friers President’s Banquet & Ball.
Fish and chip shop and restaurant owners and staff together with industry suppliers were joined by the Mayor of Newport Councillor David Atwell, President of the National Federation of Fishmongers Andrew Kenny, Chief Executive of Seafish Marcus Coleman, the Fishermen’s Mission Chris Hirst and James Morris of James T Blakeman & Co Ltd principle sponsor for the event.
Seafish Chief Executive Marcus Coleman after dinner speech detailed his own personal “top ten key facts of the industry”.
Guests were also generous and through a table envelope collection donated £492.10 for the Fishermen’s Mission.
Fishermen’s Mission Trust and Corporate Fundraising Manager, Chris Hirst said, “we are grateful for the overwhelming support we receive from the Fish and Chip Industry and are proud of the strong links we have with the National Federation of Fish Friers.”
