The seventh annual Lost Fishermen & Seafarers Service takes place on Sunday 16th October at 3.00 pm, at North Shields Baptist Church, Howard Street, North Shields.
This is a service of reflection and remembrance, for all fishermen & seafarers lost from the waters of the North East & beyond.
The service will be led by Superintendent Peter Dade, Mission Area Officer, North Shields and the speaker will be the Venerable Simon Golding CBE [Trustee of the Charity]. Also taking part will be Snr Supt (Retired) Geoff Chandler, former Supt in North Shields.
During the service there will be a time to light candles in memory of all fishermen & seafarers who have been lost at sea.
Immediately following the service wreaths will be laid at the Seafarer’s Anchor Memorial, Tyne Street/Howard Street, in memory of all fishermen & seafarers who have been lost at sea.
All are welcome to attend.
