The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall visited Porthleven yesterday and was met by the mayor Andrew Wallis and fundraising manager Julian Waring.
Julian had the opportunity to talk about the damage of the storm in 2014 to Cornwall and the work by The Fishermen’s Mission. On display was some of the artwork created from the wrecked sea defence baulks which were auctioned off earlier this year.
Julian: “It’s quite incredible, given the number of charities that they are patrons of, that they take such an interest. The Prince is well briefed about the work we are doing so it will be nice to talk to him about some of the creative work that went into the baulk project. It is a real honour to be asked and I will be taking along volunteers who were involved in the process. I think this is a recognition of all their hard work”
