The Fishermen’s Mission is delighted with the continued and fantastic support we receive from Rick Stein’s. We are thrilled that their Falmouth Restaurant is fundraising for our charity during their month long Celebration of Crab. Giant Crab Sparkey has travelled all the way from Lowestoft to join in the celebrations and a selfie with Sparkey in the restaurant is a must do, with the winner of the best selfie at the end of the month awarded a meal for two at the restaurant.
Children from King Charles Primary school also joined in the fun with a
fantastic morning learning how to prepare a cooked crab. There was great excitement as they were taught step by step the skill of taking a crab apart by Falmouth Rick Stein chef. It was a great learning curve for the children. Finally, they were all given a Fishermen’s Mission badge as a memento of their exciting visit.
With voluntary help and support our charity can to respond to an emergency call for help, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and to assist and care for injured, sick or shipwrecked fishermen. Steins understand the need for our caring work within our fishing communities which, in turn, enables us to continue to be that vital lifeline of welfare and support to our fishing communities throughout the UK.”
