Fancy getting yourself tied up in knots?

Ever thought about how a fishing net is made?

Hull is the UK City of Culture for 2017 and we are excited that the Fishermen’s Mission will be celebrating with events throughout the year. At venues across the city throughout January, February and March you can have a try at net braiding, the art of knotting together a fishing net. The aim is to complete a community fishing net to be displayed at the Fishermen’s Mission exhibitions throughout the year. Please see the attached poster for details of the Net braiding sessions.

Also we’d love to hear from you if you are part of the rich fishing heritage of Hull. Why not come and share with us your memories of the life and times of your proud fishing community.

Look out for further news of Fishermen’s Mission events taking place in Hull, City of Culture 2017.
