Vaccine Information for Fishermen

*Due to the transient nature of their work many migrant fishermen are often not registered with a GP and therefore not being invited for a Covid vaccination, so are at risk of slipping through the vaccination net.

If there are any age-eligible fishermen who have yet to be invited for a vaccination we are encouraging you to:

Register with a GP, even on a temporary basis, then you can book an appointment through the national appointment site. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ or call 119.

In some cases, this has not been possible, so we have been working with local appointment centres as we put fishermen in touch with the Skippers or boat owners to organise vaccinations for their crew.

In locations where the SeaFit Programme partners with NHS Healthy Lifestyle Advisors they have been able to organise mobile vaccination hubs near to the quayside in Aberdeenshire and Cornwall.

We always suggest your GP as a first point of call, and once you’re registered, you will receive a request to book your vaccine via the NHS, or your GP surgery.
