National Fishing Remembrance Day

Fishing remains one of the most dangerous peacetime professions. Join us at services around the UK as we honour the lives of fishermen lost at sea, on the second Sunday of May every year.

Remembering together

Each year, fishing communities around the UK hold services to remember those fishermen who have lost their lives bringing home the catch. All are welcome to join.

The next National Fishing Remembrance Day will take place Sunday 10 May 2026.

National Fishing Remembrance Day is created in partnership between the Fishermen’s Mission, The Seafarers’ Charity, Stella Maris, Seafish, and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
