SeaFit®

Health and wellbeing for fishermen on the quayside. SeaFit® is a joint initiative between the Fishermen’s Mission and the Seafarer’s Hospital Society.

Improving the health of fishermen and their families

Fishing can be an unpredictable career. When your income relies on the tides, being able to keep to doctor’s appointments and 9-to-5 opening hours can be close to impossible.

That’s why SeaFit® brings health and wellbeing services straight to the quayside: when and where fishermen need them.

What is SeaFit®?

SeaFit® is a health and wellbeing initiative created especially for active and retired fishermen – along with their families. We connect fishermen to free or low-cost physical and mental health services on the quayside. Fishermen can travel less, take less time off from the sea, and avoid long waiting times.

Free physiotherapy for working fishermen

SeaFit® is proud to have a free physiotherapy network available to all working fishermen. Every organisation in the network are members of the Associaion of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics (ACPOHE) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).

Fishermen can access the network by calling Response Occupational Health:

Telephone: 0800 999 7055
Email: info@responseoh.com

Alternatively, all organisations can be contacted directly.

“Since SeaFit® started visiting Bridlington, I’ve had dental care, health checks and physio — all without leaving the harbour.”
