Emergency Support
After an emergency at sea, we help fishermen and their families cope. Our support can start within hours of an incident and continue for as long as we are needed.
Need our support?
We are here to help active and former fishermen as well as dependant family members.
The sea is a dangerous workplace

Falls from the deck or an tangle in gear can sweep fishermen into the water in seconds, often in dangerous weather and low visibility.

Boats can hit hazards or become unstable in rough seas, leading to dangerous tipping, flooding, or complete capsize.

Loss of power or equipment can leave crews stranded hours from the shore.

Electrical faults, fuel issues, or damaged hulls can quickly turn into life-threatening situations.

Gear failures, heavy machinery, and unpredictable conditions can lead to injuries far from immediate medical help.
While we are not an emergency service and cannot provide direct support at sea, we are ready 24 hours of the day, 7 days a week to take calls when accidents or illness happen at sea for our fishermen. When we receive a call, whether it’s from the Coastguard, a fisherman in need, or a family member – we will be there when we can make a difference.
Support for each situation
Every emergency at sea is different. We tailor our response to each situation, using our resources where they are needed most.
We focus on what matters most to the people affected. This can include:
Each response is unique. We listen first, then provide the help that will make the most difference.

Evolving support
Our support doesn’t stop when the emergency is over or after a set number of sessions. We do what is needed, not what a checklist says. We help with practical needs and any mental health impact.
Even when everyone else’s life returns to normal, we stay available… whether it takes days or years.
If we cannot provide a service directly, we connect fishermen to trusted organisations who can – we may even be able to contact them on their behalf.

Your support matters
Your gift helps fishermen get emergency accommodation, essential clothing and toiletries, or safe transport home after an accident at sea.
