Over the past two years, seafood specialist chef Nathan Outlaw has raised an incredible £23,000 for the Fishermen’s Mission.
Nathan’s fundraising comes from generous diner donations and special initiatives at his acclaimed restaurant, Outlaw’s New Road. These efforts have not only provided vital support but have also helped highlight the important work we do in supporting fishermen and their families across the UK.
Captain Marc Evans, our Chief Executive, said:
“It is wonderful to thank Nathan for this generous gift. His support helps us continue our vital work providing emergency, practical, and emotional support to fishing families, both active and retired.”
A decade of support for fishermen’s welfare
Nathan has been a supporter of the Fishermen’s Mission for over ten years and was named Honorary Vice Patron in 2021. His dedication to fishing communities is unwavering.
“The Fishermen’s Mission does incredible work, making sure those who risk their lives at sea always have someone to turn to,” Nathan says. “This donation is a collective effort—from my team at Outlaw’s New Road to every diner who contributed. Supporting the charity is our way of giving back to the people and communities that make the fishing industry what it is.”
Making a real difference
With donations like Nathan’s, we are able to provide crucial care for fishermen and their families across the UK, whether that’s emergency assistance, financial support, or emotional guidance. Every gift helps ensure that those who bring seafood to our tables have someone to rely on when life at sea becomes challenging.
We are incredibly grateful to Nathan, his team, and everyone who has contributed. Together, we continue to strengthen fishing communities and support the people at the heart of the UK’s fishing industry.
