The launch of the 120 years event at the Beacon Shopping Centre, 
Bedford Street North Shields. The 120 years of the Fishermen’s Mission in North Shields is next year in 2019. The event raised awareness of the Mission’s history in North Shields and also the present ongoing vital work of “providing a lifeline of welfare and support to fishermen and their families” that the North Shields Fishermen’s Mission provides between Amble and Hartlepool in the North East.
We are the nominated charity of the Beacon Centre so it is very fitting that this event is held there.
The event proved to be a huge success with many people asking about the Fishermen’s Mission, fishing families, retired and active fishermen as well. Members of the 120 Years Steering group were also present and we raised £200!
