Every year, an average of 15 fishermen are killed or seriously injured, and 45 boats are lost

When crisis strikes, the Fishermen’s Mission wants to be there to help. We will respond to calls 24 hours a day every day of the year, for an emergency, accident, or illness at sea.

Two people in high vis yellow coats - one of them that says 'Fishermen's Mission' on the back - look out to a boat on the sea at night.

Our emergency support

Whether you are rescued at sea, involved in an accident or taken ill while fishing, our Port Staff provide vital emergency response services to the injured and shipwrecked.

We have a 24-hour on-call member of the Port Team who will take a call and then put assistance into place that may be needed. In some cases, we will be able to offer port-side support. We are always on hand to help with practicalities and offer assistance to both the fishermen, their families and the rest of the crew.

If the worst should happen, we will be there.

Three people walk along the side of a carpark towards a building, all wearing yellow high-vis jackets. We can clearly see the person with short hair in the middle, whose jacket reads 'Fishermen's Mission'.
