One of the founding members if Fisherman’s Friends and the deliverer of many a quality joke, story or yarn between songs, Jon is the most commonly recognisable member of the band. He’s a keen songwriter and co-wrote the album ‘First & Last’. Jon was awarded the role of Cornish Bard in 2017 for promoting Cornish identity through song.
Jon is also the creator, author and illustrator of the loveable ‘Gully’ a wicked cartoons seagull who has featured in 6 children’s books and his first novel for adults ‘Nasty Pasty’ won the Holyer an Gof Award for Adult fiction. He is currently working on his second novel ‘Catching Crabs’
Jon got himself an acting credit for his lead role in the move short ‘Black Car Home’ and a cameo role in the forthcoming movie ‘Fisherman’s Friends’ starring Daniel Mays, Tuppence Middleton, James Purefoy and David Haymen which is due to be released in February 2019.
As if that all wasn’t enough, Jon also runs a lovely shop in Port Isaac called the Boathouse.
Entrance is FREE but DONATIONS would be welcome on the evening for Fishermen’s Mission
